PCB Assembly testing mainly includes In-Circuit Testing (ICT), Functional Testing (FCT), Aging Testing, Temperature and Humidity Testing, Drop Testing, etc. It operates according to the customer's testing plan and then summarizes the report data.
We have high and low temperature test chambers, triaxial vibration test machines, drop test machines, shock and vibration test machines, salt spray test chambers, dust test chambers, UV test chambers, button durability test machines, RDS high-frequency signal generators, high-frequency digital oscilloscopes, audio analyzers and other advanced test instruments and analytical equipment.
The industrial monitoring system displays the real-time operating status of SMT assembly factory machinery. Through a combination of 2D panels and 3D models, specific data of the equipment is displayed, such as the number of scrapped parts, working time, number of pick-ups, and production output of pick-and-place machine; the number of good products, pass rate, and total production output monitored by the SPI; and the number of PCBs with misplacements and defects monitored by the AOI, ensuring the verification and control of the printing processes. The hourly yield of the production line is directly transmitted to the visualization platform. If the yield falls below the set target level, it will drive management to improve. It’s a key part of the surface mount pcba process flow, applying solder paste to a printed circuit board (PCB), the most common option of applying solder paste to a PCB through a stencil printer.
This process deposits accurately the correct amount and thickness of solder onto solder pads.
Solder paste inspection aims to find out the defective solder paste printing online in the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly process. SPI can directly check the quality of solder paste on the PCB. With solder paste inspection, the defect rate can be reduced and a lot of cost and time can be saved.
Component placement is an electronic manufacturing PCBA process that accurately mounts surface-mounted components into fixed locations on a printed circuit board (PCBs) to establish electrical interconnections between the components and the PCBs.
The reflow soldering process uses solder paste to temporarily attach electronic components through their contact pads. After a long period of high temperature, the solder paste melts and the surface-mounted components are firmly adhered to the PCB board.
AOI can detect mis-soldering, reverse soldering, empty soldering, empty soldering, lack of penetration, short circuit, offset, tombstone, etc. after reflow soldering. It can also detect defects such as excessive welding, insufficient welding, and continuous welding in the appearance of PCBA solder joints.
PCBA through-hole component soldering is a critical step. Manual soldering is suitable for small batches and prototyping, providing flexibility and precision, but with low productivity. Wave soldering is suitable for mass production, has high efficiency and good consistency, but has limited component selection, requires preheating, and is costly.
Combined with Gerber, BOM and coordinate files, the resistance and capacitance in the completed PCBA are verified again by the first-sample tester to ensure the correctness of all parameter values.
X-ray inspection is typically performed on Quad Flat No-Lead (QFN) and Ball Grid Array (BGA) components during printed circuit board assembly, checking the solder joints of invisible components to ensure the reliability of each solder ball in the BGA.
The final stage of the PCB assembly process is conducting functional tests to verify that the PCB operates as expected. Additionally, depending on the application, there may be further requirements. For instance, automotive PCB might undergo drop tests, and medical PCB might require halogen testing.
